Cecil McDonald, Jr.

Cecil McDonald, Jr. is an artist that uses photography and video to create works that seek to relocate our understanding of the relationships that samemanate from the domestic space. Cecil received his MFA from Columbia College Chicago and currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago and as a teaching artist for the Center for Community Arts Partnership. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with works in the permanent collection of The Cleveland Museum of Art; he was awarded the Illinois Consortium for Educational Opportunity Program Fellow, the Joyce Foundation Midwest Voices & Visions Award, the Artadia Award, and the Albert P. Weisman Award. The Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago represents Cecil McDonald, Jr.; he makes his home in Chicago with his wife Sandee L. McDonald and their three daughters.
